What is Vivaty?

Vivaty is a 3D virtual world you can access via your web browser. 

Vivaty lets you hang out with friends, meet new ones, and do fun things in a way that you couldn't ever do with a regular chat room, and not without some serious download that frankly, you really wouldn't want to download.

With Vivaty, you can create a pretty sweet looking avatar, go dancing with your friends at the clubs, laugh together at some silly YouTube videos in your personal scene, and play games while exploring this new world.

Vivaty is constantly changing. Every day tons of new people are signing up and helping shape this world while making new friendships along the way.

What can I do on Vivaty?

The best way to learn this is to sign-up and go exploring. You'll find all sorts of cool experiences, from dance clubs to movie theaters, to exotic beaches, to scavenger hunts, and beyond. Specifically, most people like doing these things on Vivaty:

• Create an avatar and celebrate their inner-fashionista
• Go shopping to try on cool clothes
• Decorate your own personal scene
  
• Share your favorite YouTube videos, MP3s, Flickr pictures and let friends interact with them in 3D.

Is Vivaty free?

Absolutely!

In the future, we are going to give people the ability to buy some pretty sweet things for their avatar or scene. We'll let people spend real money to buy those things, if they want, but Vivaty has no plans to charge you to sign up and use the service.

What do I need to use Vivaty?

• PC running Windows 98, XP or Vista. Preferably turned on.
  
• Web browser like Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 3
• Average bandwidth. It'll work on slow connections, but we recommend at least basic DSL/Cable service. Wireless is no problem.
• Cool attitude. Special skills, like juggling, are optional.
   

How is Vivaty different?

• No messy, huge downloadable clients.
• Vivaty lives right where you live -- in your web browser.
• Let's you bring your real media -- videos, music and pictures -- to the 3D experience.
• No charge to get your own real estate or scene.
• An unlimited set of connected rooms and scenes. Not one walled world where you have to walk a few miles to get anywhere.
• No crazy dudes dressed like bears asking you to go private in their spaceship.

Will Vivaty make me cooler?

Yes, it's been scientifically proven to do so.

Vivaty is a great way for you and your friends to go do fun things online, like dancing in exclusive clubs, imitating hula moves on the beach, or exploring far off lands together. Thousands of people are visiting every day and making new friends all the time, and building relationships that are the furthest thing from virtual. And if that's not cool, what is?

How old do I have to be to use Vivaty?

All Vivaty users are required to be at least 13 years old. Sorry, no exceptions!

Will Vivaty sell my personal info?

Vivaty launches new content and features all the time. Every two weeks, if not more often! We're constantly listening to our customers for what we should build next. The best way to influence this is in our features forum. You can suggest new ideas, and vote on existing ideas, too. We pay close attention to this, so chime in today! 

No Mac? What's up with that?

We now have a condensed, flash-based version of the Vivaty experience, called Vivaty Lite, for our Mac users!

The full Vivaty platform is currently available on Windows PCs, although you can definitely use it on a Mac running Boot Camp.
