How does this version of Vivaty work?

In this lightweight version of Vivaty, you can meet new people, dress up in cool fashions, and hangout. It gives you a taste of what the full Vivaty experience provides, where you can party with tons of people, buy lots of new outfits, and decorate your own personal space. Although it's in Flash, you still get a full 3D experience.

When you sign up for Vivaty in Facebook, AIM or at Vivaty.com, we'll give you an opportunity to enter this lightweight version of Vivaty if you don't want to access the full Vivaty experience (you can always upgrade later by clicking the "Go Party" button).

We'll also automatically detect if you have a browser or computer that is incompatible with the full Vivaty experience, and automatically redirect you to Vivaty Lite in those cases. If you already use the full Vivaty experience, you can't use Vivaty Lite right now (although we'll soon let you go back and forth between both experiences).

Since this version of Vivaty works in Flash, it will work on nearly all computers without any special software or add-ins.

Meeting new people

When you get inside Vivaty, you'll start getting invitations and requests at the top of your screen from people who want to talk with you.

If you click on the invitation on the "Chat Now" button, you'll get taken to the scene where the person wanted to chat with you. If you click "No Thanks" the invitation will get dismissed (without notifying the other person), and you won't get another invitation for a little while. If you need some quiet time alone, select "I'm Unavailable" from the menu on the upper-right.

Soon, you'll have the ability to search and find new people to talk with, and the ability to add your favorite people to your friends list.

Changing my clothes

In this preview version, we fill your closet with a variety of clothes that'll match any scene you choose. To change your clothes, click on "My Stuff" at the bottom of the screen, and then click on whatever item you would like to wear.

Changing my scene

In this preview version, you can choose from six different hangouts, complete with different scenery and music. At the bottom, click on the menu with the names of the scenes to change the one you're in. Note, if someone is chatting with you, they won't be automatically follow you into your new scene (in this initial preview version -- that will change in the future).

Soon, there will be additional video screens, music players and pictures that you can customize.

Gesturing, dancing and other cool moves

In this preview version, you can choose from a wide variety of moods, moves and gestures to express how you feel. Go ahead and pucker up for a kiss, or show your new friend how you really feel! Just click on the Happy Face at the bottom to select from a range of expressions.

Changing my settings and avatar gender

If for some reason you got the wrong avatar gender, you can click "Settings" in the upper-right of your screen, and change the gender, in addition to any other personal information about you. You can also change your marketing preferences here, if need be.
